eTicket “open.php” Cross-Site Scripting

Jesper Jurcenoks has discovered two vulnerabilities in eTicket, which can be exploited by malicious people to conduct cross-site scripting attacks. Input passed to the “err” and “warn” parameters in open.php is not properly sanitised before being returned to the user. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a user’s browser session in context of an affected site.

Successful exploitation requires that “register_globals” is enabled…
The vulnerabilities are confirmed in versions 1.5.5 and 1.5.5.1. Other versions may also be affected.

Solution:
Edit the source code to ensure that input is properly sanitised.
